Week 3 NFL Predictions

by Abe Luciano on Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Week 3 NFL Predictions: Do you want to see Chad Henne look like a quarterback that belongs and a Miami Dolphins offense that can move the ball down the field and score at ease? Then, watch this game against the Browns! After consecutive home loses to start the season, a rod game will be a blessing in disguise for Henne and the struggling Fins offense.

Listed as the NFL Betting Odds underdogs this week, the (0-2) Miami Dolphins [+3] will finally get into the win Week 3 NFL Predictionscolumn by upsetting the NFL Betting Odds favorites, (1-1) Cleveland Browns [-3] on Sunday. This game has a scheduled opening kickoff slated for 1 PM ET from Cleveland Browns Stadium on CBS Sports.

Appearing to finally having found a first-string running back in rookie, Daniel Thomas, the Fins can now tae some of the pressure off Henne to perform and employ a more balanced offensive charge. With Reggie Bush’s role minimized to almost nothing, Thomas carried the ball 18 times against the Texans “D”, punishing them for 107 yards.

The Miami defense has also taken a lot of criticism after two weeks, surrendering a league-worst 484 yards per game. What people don’t realize is that starting the season against two future Divisional winners is nothing to sneeze at. How would you like your football club to start the season against Tom Brady and the Pats followed by Matt Schaub and the Texans? That’s a pretty brutal schedule!

My Week 3 NFL Predictions for the Dolphins vs Browns: As I stated before, I like Miami to finally get rid of that goose egg under their win column. In order to do it, the defense has to shut down the Browns, No.1. And No.2, Miami has to be more creative in their offensive play-calling.

The Dolphins need to incorporate a timely mix of run and passes with the aforementioned guys like Henne and Thomas, and get Bush in the open field! Give Reggie some touches off screenplays and watch the guy make would-be tacklers miss, left and right. If so, Miami will win this game! If not, please fire Tony Sparano already!
