Campbell, who was acquired from Washington this offseason, went 22 of 37 for 180 yards, one touchdown and an interception, as the Silver and Black open the season with a 38-13 loss at Tennessee.
After a similar start in Week 2 against St. Louis, Cable pulled Campbell after halftime, as Oakland trailed, 7-3 at the break. With Gradkowski under center, the Raiders offense got going in a hurry, as the Raiders scored 13 second-half points in a 16-14 victory.
"The reasons are pretty simple," Cable said. "First and foremost is the energy and the level of intensity that was brought into the huddle when he came into the game. The way the guys responded around him. And obviously scoring points. … That's what we're about. If we can get this thing to where we can score 24 points a game, I think we'll be very tough to beat."
For the Cardinals, they are coming off a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons, 7-41. "The players are embarrassed and hurt and ready to get after Oakland and get that bad game out of our system," said Arizona defensive coordinator Bill Davis. "But we own it. It snuck up on us. It happened and now we have to respond to it."
