Erin Andrews Nude Video Michael Barrett Arrested: Hot ESPN reporter Erin Andrews is breathing a sigh of relief today, as the man accused of taping the infamous Erin Andrews Nude Video was arrested Friday night in Chicago, Ill, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Michael David Barrett, a 48-year-old man from the Chicago area was taken into custody at Chi-Town’s O'Hare airport after returning from a trip to New York. Barrett faces federal charges of interstate stalking for making the
Erin Andrews Nude Video and attempting to sell it to a celebrity website after posting it online in July of this year.
Barrett has been scheduled to make his first court appearance on Saturday morning at Chicago’s U.S. District Court. "I think she's probably sleeping more soundly tonight than she has since these videos surfaced," said Andrews' attorney, Marshall Grossman after the news surfaced.
According to the reports, the FBI indicated that 7 of the 8 videos posted on the Internet (in July) were filmed through a customized door peephole while Andrews was alone. Agents said they believe the suspect called various hotels, found out where she was staying, and booked a room right next to hers in Nashville, Tennessee, on September of last year. The 8th Nude Video was likely taken at another hotel, agents said.
"This is clearly welcome news," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said. "Our thoughts and support continue to be with Erin, who has demonstrated tremendous strength and determination."
According to Grossman, Barrett is a serial stalker that had been following Andrews from city to city, all across the United States. "He wasn't an accidental tourist," he said. "He had her in his sights."
