Houston Texans vs Oakland Raiders 2010 NFL Picks, 2010 NFL Predictions & 2010 NFL Odds: In a matchup that has certainly become a heated rivalry, the (2-1-0) Houston Texans [-3½] travel to the Bay Area to take on the ever-improving, sports betting odds underdog (1-2-0) Oakland Raiders [+3½]. The Texans and Raiders, who are meeting for the fifth consecutive season, are set to kick thing off at 4:05 PM ET (1:05 PM PT) from the Oakland Coliseum live on CBS Sports.
For the Texans, they’re coming off their first loss of the season, as their high-powered offense was shutdown by
the Dallas Cowboys defense, 13-27, last week. Incredibly, Houston’s attack was kept out of the end zone until there was 1:15 remaining in the game, as the Boys’ “D” buckled down. The OVER/UNDER for this, Houston Texans vs Oakland Raiders 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds game is set at a combined total of 43 points scored.
"This team poses matchup problems for us," coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think they're third in defense in the league right now. They've got a great corner (Nnamdi Asomugha), so obviously they can cause us problems."
For the Raiders, much like last week, Asomugha will once again be matched up against one of the premier wide receivers in the league. Last week it was Larry Fitzgerald, who was held to just two catches for 26 yards, this week it’ll be Andre Johnson standing across from Asomugha in the line of scrimmage.
"I think he looked forward to it, prepared himself and I think the outcome showed that," Raiders head coach Tom Cable said of the last time Asomugha and Johnson matched up. "As we get ready to go with Houston now and Andre Johnson coming in here, then we'll talk about that. But you've got to take your hat off to him."
The raiders could easily be 2-1 if it weren’t for Sebastian Janikowski’s 32-yard gimme missed as time expired in Arizona. The Silver and Black left the desert with a heart breaking, 23-24, loss to the Cardinals. Janikowski has now missed five field goals in three games. His three misses from inside 50 yards this year, are as many as he has missed over the past two seasons.
"I told him I love him and I'd go to him again in the same situation and he'd probably have to win two or three games just like that for us this year and he'll probably do it," Cable said.
