NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions

by Abe Luciano on Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions: If we take a quick glance at the National Football Conference, we can immediately see that three of the five remaining undefeated teams in the league currently occupy the top spot in each division except for the NFC West: The New York Giants lead the way in the NFC East at 4-0. After a tremendous performance on Monday night, the (4-0) Minnesota Vikings continue to rule the NFC North. And last but not least, the unbeaten (4-0) New Orleans Saints proved that they are for real, with a one-sided victory over Rex Ryan’s New York Jets.

In the NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions, all but the Saints will be in action on Sunday beginning at 1 PM ET. The New York Giants [-15½] will host the sports betting odds underdog (1-3) Oakland Raiders [+15½] this Sunday afternoon at Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands. This game will be broadcasted on CBS Sports.

The Giants come in after beating the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, 27-16, barely covering the NFL Point Spreads & Predictions. In that game, quarterback Eli Manning suffered a foot injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the game. Even as the Chiefs made a push and inched closer in the 4th quarter, Eli remained on the bench.

Manning has been listed as day-to-day with plantar fasciitis. “It’s not as serious an injury as (the doctor) has seen before, where it’s the whole foot that’s hurting,” Manning told a radio station in New York. “It’s just kind of a portion of it… I knew it was the bottom of my foot, my heel area. I could walk around a little bit. It was good that we got a touchdown on that play, kind of gave ourselves a pretty good lead at the time."

How will this affect the Giants chances of fulfilling this rather steep NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions? I would wait for the line to move down a little but before pulling the trigger on anything. It deters me how the Giants lets the Chiefs score points at will later in last week’s game, when it was already out of reach.

The only other NFC undefeated team in action and its NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions is: (4-0) Minnesota Vikings [-9½] vs. (0-4) St. Louis Rams [+9½] *I really don’t expect another performance like the one we saw last week, where the Vikings scored that many points. I would watch the line, and wait for my NFL Week 5 Point Spreads & NFL Predictions later this week. These NFL Week 5 Point Spreads are suspect!
