Starting the season 0-3 on the road isn’t something that anyone could have predicted. Certainly, it isn’t what the Jets’ coaching staff had in mind, especially considering this team has become infamous for winning tough road games in the playoffs since Ryan’s arrival.
One has to believe that welcoming the lowly Dolphins might be exactly what this team needs to get back on its horse. With no opposing quarterback to deal with, after the announcement that Chad Henne would be out for the remainder of the season, Monday can’t come fast enough if you’re in a Jets uniform.
New York has now hit its lowest point this season, following a 21-30 defeat at the hands of Tom Brady and the hated Patriots. Luckily for Jets fans, the season is still young and there’s still time to figure things out. However, with the emergence of Buffalo as a playoff contender in the AFC East, their window and margin of error will slowly begin to shrink.
“This team is not going to (break) just because we’re 2-3 right now,” Ryan said. “That’s when you get stronger. That’s when you come in together and you build character. This is a resilient bunch. I’m telling you. I believe in this football team. It’s a 100-percent fact that each team is going to have to deal with adversity and this is our opportunity.”
