Carolina fell to 1-4 on Sunday with a 
27-30 loss to the NFC South leading Saints. The Panthers, despite dropping another game, proved, once again, that they should not be taken lightly.
Carolina trailed by double digits in both the first and third quarters, but found its way to a 27-23 lead deep into the final frame. The Panthers, which earned their fourth cover of the season in the loss to New Orleans, finished the game with 20 first downs and 381 total yards. Cam Newton completed 16-of-31 passes for 224 yards and he connected on touchdowns passes to Steve Smith and Greg Olsen.

Atlanta wishes it could say the same for its offense and quarterback. The Falcons, which fell to 2-3 with a 25-14 loss to the Packers, sit 19th in yards and 21st in points per game through five weeks while Matt Ryan's 79.9 passer rating is the 21st best in the league.
Atlanta and Ryan started well against Green Bay, scoring on their first two drives, but they finished miserably. The Falcons managed just 251 yards in the setback while Ryan amassed a 55.1 rating after throwing for 167 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
The Falcons have owned this rivalry of late, besting the Panthers in four of the last five meetings between the two clubs; however, Carolina looks like team capable of pulling off the upset here.
