Baylor vs Texas A&M 2011 College Football Picks Week 7

Baylor vs Texas A&M 2011 College Football Picks Week 7: If you were to guess what school has the highest ranked college football team in the great state of Texas, I wonder how many folks would guess the Baylor University Bears. Yep, they sure are, ranked 20th in this weeks AP poll leading rivals Texas A&M Aggies,  right behind at No. 21. Today these two schools play a crucial Big 12 matchup at the infamous Kyle Field in College Station, Texas on the Texas A&M campus. The Aggies are listed 8 1/2-chalk College Football Odds favorites at offshore sportsbook Justbet.cx with a 75 1/2 total. The game will be televised on FX with kickoff slated for Noon ET.

Both teams are highly ranked in team scoring with Baylor the highest averaging 47.6 points per game through five games while the Aggies rank 18th with a 39 point per game average. No doubt, offense is each teams specialty but defensively, rank way down the NCAA list. The Aggies barely crack the top 100 in total defense at 99 while the Bears are a little better but not top 50 at No. 60. Bad defense equals high scoring so that accounts for the 75 1/2 total.

The key to beating the Bears is to keep their quarterback, fourth-year senior Robert Griffin III, in check. However, doing that is easier said than done. The talented Griffin is ranked No. 3 in individual total offense and under his leadership has the Bears ranked No. 3 in total offense at 563 yards per game.

Aggies quarterback Ryan Tannehill also has a pretty good grip on A&M's offense ranked 20th in individual offense and 12th in team total offense averaging 493 yards per game.

If you like to play totals this should be the mother of all totals games. The Total has exceeded 70 points in four of five games Baylor has played this season while the OVER has shot past the posted total in 4-of-5 games the Bears played. The Bears aren't bad ATS either covering for backers in 4-of-5 games. In the only game the Bears played lined as underdogs; they won SU covering +4 versus TCU in Week-1. The Aggies can score but not at the rate the Bears do, however, all they have to do to push the total OVER is to score their average. A&M has not been a good cover for side wagering going 1-4 ATS. I know the prospects of this game going over are high but I'm going to make the Bears +8 1/2 my pick.
