Boise State vs. Colorado State 2011 College Football Odds Week 7: The 5th ranked Boise State Broncos always seem to bring out the crowds at home or away and that will be the case Saturday (6:00 P.M.ET) when they play their first conference football game as a member of the Mountain West Conference on the road versus the Colorado State University Rams at Fort Collins, Col. The Bronco's are heavy College Football Odds 31-chalk favorites in this one with a combined score total (over/under) of 54. The game will be televised on the Mtn Network.
The Rams seldom get national exposure so having a top-5 team travel to Fort Collins is a big deal. Now that TCU is departing the MWC after this year for greener pastures in the Big 12, the Broncos will assume top dog in the league almost by default.
The Broncos are undefeated as expected at 5-0 this season including a quality victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff on Sept. 3. Boise State was on the road last week at Fresno, Calif., for a Friday night contest against the Fresno State Bulldogs. BSU had little trouble in the game easily thrashing the Bulldogs 57-7, easily covering as a -21 point favorite. The Bronco's have not been a sure thing ATS covering 3-of-5 games ATS but is 0-2 ATS when lined by 27 or more points.
Colorado State has had its ups and downs the first half of the season but has scratched out a 3-2 SU winning record, but is 1-4 covering ATS. The only time the Rams were double-digit (-12 1/2) underdogs was at Utah State in Week-4 but pulled off a 35-34 SU upset.
Boise State will win this game handily but covering on the road giving -31 is difficult. There are so many variables that can affect the score; especially playing reserves early. The Broncos' often jump out to large leads and cruise with reserves much of the second half of games. Also look for the Rams to come out fighting. My College Football Odds Pick – Colorado State +31.
