The Raiders lost to the then winless San Francisco 49ers 17-9 in a pathetic performance by QB Jason Campbell where he completed 8 of 21 throws for only 83 yards and committed two turnovers in that game. It has been mentioned that the Raiders might go with Kyle Boller as the starting QB at Denver. "We started off strong but we didn't get those touchdowns and it was kind of like the air went out," Campbell said. "It was a frustrating day. We lost a lot of opportunities. We will do better next time. I don't see this happening to us again."
Oakland´s defense held Frank Gore to just 66 yards thru the ground but let QB Alex Smith throw for 191 yards and two touchdowns and they couldn´t force a mistake from him. If they don´t step up this weekend they might get crush by the Broncos offense which has no real big time playmakers and is the third best in passing yards averaging 311 yards a game. The most impressive thing by this offense is that QB Kyle Orton has shown really good skills reading defenses and taking what the opponents gives him.
The Raiders defense is one of the best defending the pass but betting against Orton at home in a AFC division rivalry game is not a smart move, especially considering the Raiders offense can´t move the ball. Keep in mind Oakland is 6-15 ATS after having lost 2 out of their last 3 games and Denver is 7-1 OVER off a home loss. Take Denver to cover.
