2010 NFL Week 7 Predictions

by Abe Luciano on Thursday, October 21st, 2010

2010 NFL Week 7 Predictions: For the third straight week, Kevin Kolb will be the starting quarterback for the (4-2) Philadelphia Eagles [+3] as they take on the (4-2) Tennessee Titans [-3] on Sunday. Ever since Michael Vick injured his rib on October 3rd, Kolb has had to jump into the driver’s seat once again. At the start of the season, it was Kolb who was supposed to be the starting quarterback, but he suffered a concussion in the first half of the opener against Green Bay.

Vick started the next three games and proved to his team and coaches that he was worthy of the starting position. But Eagles’ coach Andy Reid had to go resort back to Kolb when Vick suffered his injury.

Kolb had an incredible game last week against the Atlanta Falcons, where he completed 23 of 29 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for this game after setting career highs such as 79.3 completion percentage, 133.6 passer rating and touchdown passes.

As of Monday Reid was not sure if Vick would be starting, but after Wednesday’s practice he confirmed that he was not ready just yet. The controversial quarterback was at practice on Wednesday but was still complaining about soreness. Kolb says that either way he will continue to prepare as though he is starting, just so he will be ready.

"That way," he said, "I'm ready when my name's called. Whatever (Reid) decides, he decides."
