Houston, after a great 3-1 start, finds 
itself at a familiar cross-roads heading into Sunday's meeting with the Titans. The injury riddled Texans sit 3-3 overall following back-to-back losses to the Raiders and Ravens, and if the past is any indication, they may be heading toward a precipitous fall.
Houston started 3-1 last year as well only to lose nine of its last 12 games and finish well out of the playoff chase. That may seem like a bad omen, especially considering how the team has performed over the last two games. However, should the Texans manage to slip past the Titans, a team they have defeated three times in the last five meetings between the two clubs, hope may not be lost.
Houston welcomes Jacksonville and Cleveland to Reliant Stadium in weeks eight and nine before taking to the road against Tampa Bay and Jacksonville. So, the schedule sets up nicely for the Texans to meet their potential and, perhaps, go on to an AFC South title, but it may all hinge on Sunday's outcome. Tennessee comes in off a bye, but prior to the weekend off, Mike Munchak's squad suffered a disheartening 38-17 loss at Pittsburgh to fall to 3-2 on the season. The Titans defense, which had been one of the best in the league before facing the Steelers, yielded 26 first downs and 431 total yards to Ben Roethlisberger and company.
The most disturbing part for Munchak, though, particularly with the Texans on the horizon, was the 174 rush yards Tennessee gave up in the double digit setback. Unless they shored things up during the bye week, Houston, which averages 126.2 yards per game on the ground, will exploit the Titans in the same manner this weekend.
