Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins NFL Predictions

by Steve Hastings on Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins NFL Predictions: The Bills are (5-1) leading the AFC east division with a big win last week at home over San Diego 24-13. QB Trent Edwards was 25/30 for 261 yards and 1 TD. Mitchell had a key interception and also forced a fumble in the final 4 minutes to lift an injury-depleted defense. I'm hoping Edwards is the real deal. He admitted he faded at the end of last season, but said he prepared this past off season, so he wouldn't be exhausted. The sports odds posted by the oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com currently list Buffalo Bills -1 favorites Miami Dolphins heading into this matchup.

Active Image"We're building, that's for sure," Mitchell said. "It's definitely a big win to get against a team like that, it means a lot to our team. I think we're moving in the right direction."

The Dolphins (2-4) areon a 2 game losing streak, their most recent being last week when they lost at home 27-13 to Baltimore. Linebacker Joey Porter had two sacks and now has 8.5 for the season. He is closing in on his career best 10.5 sacks (2000, 2005). Dolphins NT Jason Ferguson left the game in the first quarter with a rib injury and didn't return. Well it was a pretty disappointing game. Baltimore dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, they killed them with the 3 RB's and especially on those screen plays which they must have converted on at least 5 or 6 third down plays. The online sports betting odds at Sportsbook.com has the OVER/UNDER in this Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins game is set at 42.5 points.

NFL Predictions: After years of Todd Collins, Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie and Losman, it's great to see Bills with a QB back there who can lead. This is really a diffeent team on both sides of the ball when Edwards is in there. This is the first of a 3 game division stretch for the Bills. As far as the wildcat goes, no it didn't "work" against BAL, but that was mostly because they just ran the ball out of that formation, they should have thrown the ball out of it. And it is 'effective' because the defense has to plan for it, it adds more load to the defense as far as things that they have to watch for, but any intelligent Dolphin fan knew that it wouldn't work well running the ball against BAL, they haven't allowed a 100 yard rusher in like 25 straight games. Over is 7-0 in Dolphins last 7 games following a S.U. loss.
