Baylor vs Oklahoma State 2011 College Football Predictions: Oklahoma State University, now ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings, will take on the dangerous Baylor Bears this Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater (3:30 p.m. ET). The Cowboys (7-0) are co-leaders in the Big 12 Conference with Kansas State, also undefeated at 7-0 and 4-0 in the league. For Baylor to get back in the conference hunt, pulling an upset of the Cowboys would certainly help its cause. However, oddsmakers at most off shore sports shops list the Cowboys as 14-chalk College Football Odds favorites for the game with a 80 1/2 total.
It seems like OSU has been in the shadows of that other school, the Oklahoma University Sooners, for ever. That is until last week when OU lost unexpectedly to the Texas Tech Red Raiders in front of the home crowd. As a result, OU dropped like a rock in the BCS standings while the Cowboys, by virtue of their impressive road victory at Missouri, moved up to No. 3. For now, it seems that OSU has the inside track to the 2011 Big 12 Championship and is poised to move into the BCS Top-2 when the opportunity presents itself. Of course the Pokes must continue winning.
OSU has put together an amazing run thus far both winning SU but also big winners ATS for backers. Since falling short covering the spread in Week-1, the Cowboys have reeled off six straight games where they covered the spread. That game week one when they didn't cover was against Louisiana-Lafayette when lined 38-chalk favorites.
At 4-2 SU, Baylor needs two more wins to become bowl eligible. The Bears opened the season in impressive fashion upsetting then-No. 14 TCU in Waco. The Bears were 3-0 before sustaining their first loss, falling by a single point at Kansas State, Oct 1. Two weeks later they lost on the road to rivals Texas A&M Aggies by 27 points. After a much needed bye week, the Cowboys now must travel to play their highest ranked opponent, OSU.
This game with Baylor could be a potential land mine for OSU. The Cowboy's defense will be put to the test because the unit will be facing NCAA pass efficiency leader Robert Griffin III. The Bears also lead OSU in total offense and are ranked No. 2 in the nation.
This game should be very entertaining. My Pick – Cowboy's -14.
