Last week, the Panthers rallied against the San Francisco 49ers to earn their first and much needed 23-20 win. Matt Moore was back as the starting quarterback and showed what he could do. He threw for a career high 308 yards and helped lead Carolina to 10 points in the final minutes of the game.
After being benched for three weeks, Panthers coach John Fox feels it did Moore a lot of good. "He sat back, watched and I think (it was) a good learning experience," said Fox.
But just as things look like they are turning around, the Panthers discover they could possibly be without DeAngelo Williams, their star running back. Williams injured his foot last week, and in the case he cannot play, Jonathan Stewart will take the load. This year Williams has 361 yards and one touchdown, and against the Rams he as 176 yards on 35 carries.
As for St. Louis, they are glad to be back home, as they will try to get their fourth straight win at home. Last week the Rams lost to Tampa Bay 18-17, and quarterback Sam Bradford knows his team has work to do. The Rams’ quarterback was 13 of 26 for 126 yards and two touchdowns against the Bucs.
"It was just a lot of little things, things we've got to get figured out, things we've done in our wins, especially, that we just didn't get done," said Bradford.
The Rams have currently been outscored in the last three games during the final two quarters, 46-3. The last time these teams met was in 2007, when the Panthers defeated the Rams 27-13.
