St Louis Rams vs Detroit Lions NFL Odds Week 8: The winless (0-7) St. Louis Rams [+4] will take on the sports betting odds favorite (1-5) Detroit Lions [-4] at Ford Field this Sunday afternoon at 1 PM ET (10 AM PT) on CBS. Sure both teams are in desperate need of a win going into the NFL Odds Week 8, but none more than the St. Louis Rams. According to NFL Odds Week 8 experts at Bodog.com, the OVER/UNDER for this St. Louis Rams vs Detroit Lions game has been set at a combined total of 43½ points scored.

A 17-game losing streak is not easy to swallow in any sport. Needless to say that the Rams will have to make a St Louis Rams vs Detroit Lions NFL Odds Week 8complete turnaround in order to dig their way out of this massive crater they’ve put themselves in. St. Louis is one of three teams without a win this season, but in many people’s eyes, they are the absolute worst. They come into this game with a total of 60 points, while they’ve given up 211 to their opposition.

The Rams are so bad, that even with a tremendous running back coming out of the backfield, they’ve yet to score a single rushing touchdown this season. Last week against the Colts, RB Steven Jackson gave this team some hope with his season-high 134 yards on 23 carries.

It’s very hard to believe that Jackson is currently ranked third in the league with 635 yards this season, despite never stepping into the end zone. "We have to learn to put four good quarters together," Jackson said. "We don't know how to win a game right now."

The last time these teams met was in week 4 of the 2006 season, when the Rams beat the Lions 41-34. The Rams hold the overall series against the Lions, 41-38-1, but the Lions have won four of the past six games.

Detroit (1-5) is coming off a bye week thirsty for a win. Their only victory in 23 games came on September 27th (week 3), as they shocked Washington, 19-14. The Lions got some good news this week, as quarterback Matthew Stafford returned to practice after sitting out 2 games with a knee injury.

However, Stafford’s favorite target, Calvin Johnson might not be available for a second straight week. He’s also recovering from a knee injury, and his status for this game is unknown. "I feel a lot better than I did a week ago, so I'm definitely optimistic, but I'm not positive," Johnson said Tuesday.

"This is a hard-working team," Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said. "There's a lot of character on this football team, but the bottom line in this business is performance and we have to be very objective when it comes to performance."
