Steelers vs Chiefs Odds 2011 Sunday Night Football Picks: Pittsburgh, desperate to keep pace with the Ravens in the AFC North title chase, will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium tonight. This evening's game, which features the Steelers as a -10.5 against the spread road favorite, is scheduled to get underway at 8:20pm ET on NBC. Pittsburgh, prior to last weekend's bye, ranSteelers vs Chiefs Odds 2011 Sunday Night Football Picks its record to 7-3 with a 24-17 road win at Cincinnati. The win marked the Steelers third away victory and served as a nice bounce-back from the 23-20 home loss they had incurred against the AFC North leading Ravens the weekend before.

Tonight's task looks decidely less difficult for Mike Tomlin's crew as they catch a Chiefs team absolutely decimated by injury. Kansas City, a 10-6 division winner last season, has spiraled downward since reeling off four consecutive wins in the month of October. Now the Chiefs find themselves on the verge of a fourth straight loss after falling to the Dolphins, Broncos, and Patriots.

Also working in Pittsburgh's favor is the fact that Arrowhead, once viewed as one of the most difficult places for opposing teams to play, has not been friendly to KC this season. The Chiefs pulled off wins over Minnesota and San Diego at home, but they fell to Buffalo, Miami, and Denver as a host. Not only did Kansas City lose to those teams, it did so by an average of 23 points per game.

So, while the Steelers recent history at Kansas City is not a good one (1-3 straight up and against the spread at Arrowhead since 1999), one has to conclude they will find a way to get over the hump this evening, especially with Tyler Palko still under center for the Chiefs.

Kansas City claimed former Bronco Kyle Orton off waivers this week, but Palko, who stepped in for the injured Matt Cassel on Monday in New England, will get his second career start tonight. Orton figures to assume the starting role once he has a grasp of the offense.

Sunday Night Football Picks Betting Trend: The Steelers are 1-6 against the spread (4-3 straight up), dating back to the 1993 season, as a road favorite with a spread between 8 and 10.5 points.
