Also working in Pittsburgh's favor is the fact that Arrowhead, once viewed as one of the most difficult places for opposing teams to play, has not been friendly to KC this season. The Chiefs pulled off wins over Minnesota and San Diego at home, but they fell to Buffalo, Miami, and Denver as a host. Not only did Kansas City lose to those teams, it did so by an average of 23 points per game.
So, while the Steelers recent history at Kansas City is not a good one (1-3 straight up and against the spread at Arrowhead since 1999), one has to conclude they will find a way to get over the hump this evening, especially with Tyler Palko still under center for the Chiefs.
Kansas City claimed former Bronco Kyle Orton off waivers this week, but Palko, who stepped in for the injured Matt Cassel on Monday in New England, will get his second career start tonight. Orton figures to assume the starting role once he has a grasp of the offense.
