2011 NFL Schedule Week 13 & Odds: The playoff chase heats up even more this week as injury plagued teams like Chicago, Houston, and New York (Giants) look to stay in the postseason hunt. Houston, which is now down to its third string quarterback, sits in the best position of those teams right now thanks to its two game lead over the second place Titans in the AFC South. The Bears are a major question mark with Jay Cutler out and the Giants looked lost right now, but more will be known about them after tonight's meeting with New Orleans.
The "are they for real" line of the week: Kansas City Chiefs vs 
Chicago Bears (-7.5)
The were few doubts about the Bears legitimacy a couple of weeks ago as they looked certain to grab one of the NFC's two Wild Card spots, but with Jay Cutler on the sidelines, the team's future looks a little more cloudy. Cutler's play was a huge factor in Chicago's early season turnaround, and now the team must find its way with Caleb Hanie under center. If yesterday's meeting with the Raiders was any indication, that is not a good thing. Hanie did improve as the game wore on, but three first half interceptions doomed the Bears to their first loss since a week five meeting with the Lions. The Chiefs defense is playing good football right now and could frustrate Hanie, but Chicago's defense should destroy Kansas City's pathetic offense. The Bears need a decisive win here to prove they are still a threat in the NFC playoff chase.
The "barking dog" line of the week: San Diego Chargers vs Jacksonville Jaguars (+3)
San Diego, for some reason, keeps drawing favored status. I think the Chargers have proven what they are and the expectation that this team has a late season about-face in the bag seems foolhardy at this point. Granted, Jacksonville is no super power, but the Chargers, which would seemingly lack any sort of motivation, must travel across the country to face the Jaguars. Jack Del Rio's defense is stout enough to keep his team in this game, and San Diego will probably take care of the rest with another late fold.
The "rebound" line of the week: St. Louis Rams vs San Francisco 49ers (-13)
Yeah, it's a wide margin to cover, but the Rams stand no chance in this game. St. Louis does own a road win over the Browns, but it has dropped its other four away outings by an average of 16.5 points per game. Conversely, the Niners, which are coming off extended rest thanks to their Thanksgiving night contest at Baltimore, are beating teams at Candlestick Park by an average of 18.8 points per game.
