NFL Picks: Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans NFL Odds Week 12: Last season, Kerry Collins and Kurt Warner turned back the clocks and took their respective teams to the playoffs, as the (7-3) Arizona Cardinals [+2] and the (4-6) Tennessee Titans [-2] were the biggest surprises last year.
However, only one of those guys has been able to maintain that high level of play this season, as the Cards are poised for back-to-back NFC West titles and the Titans sit at the cellar of the AFC South. But look out, because
there’s another guy turning the clock back to his college days, as Vince Young appears to have revived Titans playoff hopes.
The Cardinals and Titans will battle it out this afternoon at 4:20 PM ET (1:20 PM PT), in a contest between an undefeated road team (Away: 4-0) taking on a sizzling, confident bunch (4 consecutive wins). According to NFL Picks experts and NFL Odds makers at BetUS.com, the OVER/UNDER for this Week 12 inter-conference matchup has been calculated and set at a combined total of 45 points scored.
For the visiting Cards, their chances of snapping the Titans momentum rest on Warner’s health status, after leaving last week’s game with concussion-like symptoms. The 38-year-old’s head was slammed on the ground during the second quarter of their 21-13 win against the Rams last Sunday. Although he finished the drive with a touchdown, Warner exited and never returned.
The Cardinals believe their starter will be ready to go today. However, if Warner isn’t cleared to play, Matt Leinart will be looking to take a page off Young’s book and bring back some of his magic at Southern Cal. If so, this would be the first time that Leinart and Young faceoff since their classic 2006 showdown at the Rose Bowl. With USC favorites that night, Young rushed for 200 yards and scored three times, as the Longhorns upset the Trojans, 41-38.
Speaking of upsets, on Monday Night’s 20-17 win at Houston, Young scrambled 11 and collected 73 yards, out of which six resulted in first downs. "Just be patient,” Young said of his approach these days. “If it's there, take advantage of it. If it's not there, get the ball to our guys underneath and use my legs as well. It's just all about being patient. And if it's not there, we'll punt the ball away and let our defense go out there and give the ball back to us.
