According to NFL Picks specialists and NFL Betting Odds makers at Bodog.com, the OVER/UNDER for this Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams Week 12 contest has been set at a combined total of 42½ points scored.
For the visiting Seahawks, their record doesn’t really indicate how good this team is, as they’ve now lost 3 in a row. Some will say that Seattle is perhaps the best 3-7 team in the league, except for when it plays away from Qwest Field. The Seahawks enter this NFL Betting Odds Week 12, losers of six games in a row on the road.
Last week, the Minnesota Vikings exposed their weakness away from home, registering the Seahawks’ sixth straight, double-digit loss. During that span, Seattle’s defenses have allowed an average of 32.5 points. "We can't get used to this," quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said. "We can't get used to losing."
The good news for the Seahawks is that, as bad as they’ve been on the road over the last year or so, the Rams have been even worse at home. Going into this week’s game, St. Louis has dropped 10 consecutive games when playing under the roof of the Edwards Jones Dome and the last time Seattle won on the road was at this stadium.
St. Louis enters this week 12, tied with Tampa Bay for the worst record in the NFC. And just when Rams’ fans things couldn’t possibly get any worse, they did, as QB Marc Bulger will not be available for this one. Nevertheless, the NFL’s second leading rusher, Steven Jackson should be in the lineup.
Jackson missed practice on Wednesday due to lower back spasms, but should be ready to try and make it five consecutive games where he rushes past the century mark. "Oh, he's going to play," Seahawks head coach Jim Mora said. "Big deal. That's not unusual for a running back who's carrying the ball as much as he has, to miss a day of practice."
