NFL Picks: Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Betting Odds Week 12: The (3-7) Washington Redskins [+9½] will be in () Philly this Sunday taking on the (6-4) Philadelphia Eagles [-9½] at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 PM ET (10 AM PT). This NFC East battle can be seen live in high definition on FOX. According to NFL Picks experts and NFL Betting Odds makers at BetUS.com, the OVER/UNDER for this Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles contest has been set at a combined total of 40½ points scored.
Philadelphia is among the top contenders in the NFC East, along with the division leading (8-3) Dallas Cowboys
and the third place (6-5) New York Giants. However, the Eagles must make it a point to defeat the last place Redskins for the second time this season in order to remain in playoff contention.
The first time they met this NFL Picks season was about a month ago, when DeSean Jackson scored two touchdowns to help the Eagles get the 27-17 “W” over the ‘Skins. In their long, overall head-to-head series, Washington currently as a huge upper hand 78-66-5. However, Philadelphia has closed the gap, winning 11 its last 16 meetings with Washington.
Last week, the Eagles rallied against the Bears in the fourth quarter, escaping with a much needed, 24-20 victory. It’s going to be interesting to see of they can build off that momentum. "Before we started the drive, we kind of huddled up and said a few words," said rookie running back LeSean McCoy, who lost what appeared to be a critical fumble in the late going before redeeming himself with a 10-yard TD run.
"(Donovan McNabb) spoke to us and said, 'Let's go,” McCoy added. “We've been in this position before, let's do it.' And I think everybody just kind of got together and drove down, inch by inch and play by play."
Meanwhile, the Redskins did not have a positive outcome last week against their division rival Cowboys, losing a very close, 7-6 ballgame. Washington did a good job against Dallas up until the end, when QB Tony Romo threw to Patrick Crayton for the go-ahead score with three minutes left in the game.
Washington has had a great amount of trouble getting the points on the scoreboard this season, and it has definitely cost them. "To lose it like that in the end in a hostile situation, it's just so hard," coach Jim Zorn said. "Yet, we hung in there. I believe this is a special team of players who will not just chuck things in being 3-7."
