NFL Odds Week 13: Road underdogs turned in a respectable week 12 showing, going 5-5 against the spread while Denver and Washington managed to capture straight up victories. Per usual, there are numerous road dog candidates on the board this weekend as the teams like Kansas City, Oakland, Cincinnati, and Detroit look to deliver a blow to the betting public's expectations. Not all will be successful, of course, but the laws of football dictate that at least a few will succeed in their endeavor.
Oakland Raiders vs Miami Dolphins (-3):
The Dolphins are certainly a hot team right now, having won three games in a row before taking Dallas to the wire on Thanksgiving. Miami, which played poorly at home last season and even early this season, has also won and covered in its last two home games. Oakland is a hot team too, though, and it brings a three game win streak into Sunday's meeting with the Fins. The Raiders have also been exceptional on the road this season, going 4-1 and 5-0 against the spread. Were Carson Palmer and company limping into this game, one could see a decisive Miami win; however, since they are not, the cross country flight will, most likely, do little to dampen their effort. The zeal to get behind a Dolphins team is understandable, but Oakland is, perhaps, the best week 13 road candidate.
