NFL Odds Week 14: Road underdogs continued their solid play last week, banging out a 5-4 against the spread mark while pulling off four outright upsets. They will have no shortage of opportunities to stay on track or fall off a cliff this weekend with 11 of the 16 games featuring home favorites. Among those teams seeking to spoil expectations are unexpected winners from last week in Kansas City and Houston.
Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals
(-1.5/37.5): Everyone expected that a season ending injury to quarterback Matt Schaub would derail the Texans momentum, but thus far it has not. Houston is 2-0 since Schaub went down because the strength of their defense and a smashmouth ground game that feature two bruising running backs in Arian Foster and Ben Tate. With six consecutive wins under its belt, Houston will not go down easily, no matter who's under center and regardless of all world wide out Andre Johnson's availability. Cincinnati has been a tough out this season, but all three of its home wins have come against less than stellar competition (Buffalo, Indianapolis, Cleveland). The Bengals, losers in three of their last four games, are also beginning to slide back toward mediocrity, particularly on defense. Cincinnati has allowed an average of 27.5 points per game in its last four outings and it even managed to give up 20 points to the lowly Browns. All those things point toward another Texans victory this weekend.
