NFL Week 14 Predictions: Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers Odds

by Matt Foust on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

NFL Week 14 Predictions Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers Odds: The Steelers can move one step closer to the AFC North title this weekend as the host division rival Cincinnati at Heinz Field. The two adversaries, which have been headed in opposite directions since week three, are scheduled to take the field at 1:00pm ET on Sunday, December 12th. Online bookmaker SBGglobal.com has Pittsburgh listed as a -9 against the spread home favorite in its NFL Week 14 Predictions; the game total is presently set at 40.5.

The Bengals losing streak reached nine NFL Week 14 Predictions: Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers Oddsgames last weekend with a 34-30 loss to the Saints at Paul Brown Stadium. Cincinnati, which fell to 2-10 as a result of the loss, rallied from a 14 point second half deficit to take a 30-27 with just 4:25 left in the game. However, the Bengals displayed their late game ineptitude once again, allowing New Orleans to score the game winning touchdown with 31 seconds left in regulation.

Despite their horrific play, Cincinnati may actually bring a certain measure of confidence into this weekend's dust up with the Steelers. The Bengals, which are 1-5 on the road this season (averaging 20.5 points per game outside of the Queen City), have won three of their last five games at Pittsburgh, including an 18-12 win at Heinz Field last year.

Pittsburgh will, no doubt, be ready for its lowly division foe as any slip up on its part could allow the 8-4 Ravens to regain control of the AFC North. The Steelers earned a season split with Baltimore last Sunday night with a 13-10 victory at M&T Bank Stadium, but they took a one game lead in the division race after advancing their record to 9-3.

Pittsburgh does come into this week's game banged up courtesy of the Ravens hard hitting defense. Tight end Heath Miller is doubtful after sustaining a second half concussion on a vicious head shot from linebacker Jameel McClain and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is questionable after undergoing surgery to repair the broken nose he sustained on the Steelers first possession against Baltimore.

The Steelers, for all their prowess, have not been a juggernaut at Heinz Field. Two of Pittsburgh's three losses have come at home (Baltimore, New England); however, it has yet to lose to a sub .500 team at any location.

NFL Week 14 Predictions Betting Trend: The Over is 8-1 in the Steelers last 10 games as a home favorite against an AFC North opponent with a total between 37 and 41.
