NFL Week 14 Predictions: Things are beginning to get interesting in the National Football Conference. So far, only the New Orleans Saints have punched their ticket into the postseason, as the Minnesota Vikings failed to capitalize on their opportunity and got destroyed last week in the desert. Things will not get any easier, as the (10-2) Minnesota Vikings [-6½] will host the sports betting odds underdog (9-3) Cincinnati Bengals [+6½] on Sunday afternoon.
After a dreadful loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings (10-2) will have to find a way to pick them selves up as they start week 14. Not only are the Vikings trying to recover from the abuse they took from the Cardinals, but also trying to find a way to work through E.J Henderson’s devastating injury.
Henderson was injured in the final quarter of the Cardinal’s game, as he chased after RB Tim Hightower. In the process, he was collided by safety Jamarca Sanford landing harshly on his left leg, fracturing his femur. "I feel bad for E.J.," Brett Favre said. "That's awful for him and for our team."
This brutal injury will put a halt to the rest of his season, as well as a big blow to the Viking’s defensive line. Coach Brad Childress stayed with Henderson in Phoenix for his surgery, and said Henderson was in high spirits on Monday.
“He's a great rallying force,” Childress said of Henderson. “He's a good football player. He's a good leader; a quiet leader. But you get past that. You may not replace him physically, but you do get past that. You have to get past it because we have a quarter of the regular season left.”
