Detroit Lions vs Baltimore Ravens NFL Week 14 Predictions: Two teams struggling to get a win will meet on Sunday afternoon, as the (2-10) Detroit Lions [+13½] pay a visit to the sports betting odds favorite (6-6) Baltimore Ravens [-13½]. The Lions and the Ravens will kickoff at 1 PM ET and personnel problems will play a huge role in the outcome of this one. NFL Week 14 Predictions specialists have set the OVER/UNDER at 39½ points.
As if the odds weren’t stacked up against the Lions enough for this one, Detroit has ruled out starting quarterback Matthew Stafford for this game. The first overall pick is expected to sit out this week and rest his non-throwing shoulder for at least one game. Stafford aggravated his left shoulder during last week’s loss to the Bengals
"If he hadn't taken that hit in the fourth quarter of the Cincy game, we wouldn't be having this discussion," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. "It was a very similar hit to the one that he took in the Cleveland game, and we want to avoid the situation where it becomes something chronic.
"Structurally, everything is still on course. It's sore, and we just wanted to avoid a continuing cycle of come back, get hit, come back, get hit. We'll give it time to rest and put it behind him."
On Wednesday, Schwartz announced veteran backup Daunte Culpepper would be the starter on Sunday. Stafford will be moved to No.3 on the depth chart. "Daunte is our backup quarterback," he said. "We've had no change in our depth chart. We have a lot of confidence in Daunte."
