NFL Picks: Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants NFL Odds Week 14: Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands will be the sight for this NFC East divisional showdown between the (8-4) Philadelphia Eagles [-1] taking on the sports betting odds underdog (7-5) New York Giants [+1].
This heated rivalry is scheduled to kickoff at 8:25 PM ET (5:25 PM PT) as part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football in America. According to NFL Odds makers at BETUS.com, the OVER/UNDER for this Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Week 14 game is set at a combined total of 44 points scored.
For the visiting Eagles, they come into this game having won three straight against the G-Men, which of course includes last postseason. "I'm not going to talk about the three games," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. "I think we are well aware of the first game here this year. We gave up a lot of big plays; didn't stop the run. And, again, I think that is where it starts for us."
According to Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb they key to their recent dominance over New York has been taking care of the football. "I think we have had the opportunity of having less turnovers than them and have put ourselves in position to score when the time was needed," McNabb said. "I think that not only for this particular game, but that is how you win games in this league."
For the hosting Giants, getting running back Brandon Jacobs going is huge. In last week’s 31-24 win over the Cowboys, the bruising back scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the season. Shortly thereafter, Jacobs was the recipient of a 74-yard catch that put the G-Men ahead for good.
It’s worth noting that Jacobs is averaging 85.2 rushing yards over the last five meetings with the Eagles. "I think we are back to our old selves and we got a tough Philadelphia team that is coming in here on Sunday," Jacobs said. "We are going to come out and try to do the same thing and try to have the same emotion."
Another big key for New York’s success this week will depend on the ability of Eli Manning to steer the offense in the right direction. Manning has been battling some injuries of late, but when you play a division rival, it doesn’t take much to get excited.
"It's Philly, that is big enough motivation," Manning said. " We just have to know that we are going to have to go in there and play well. They are playing great football and we have to be at our best."
