Purdue Boilermakers vs Central Michigan Chippewas is a classic small school vs big school bowl that is a rematch from when these teams met on August 15th. The Motor City Bowl is in Central Michigan’s home state so their small fan base should give them some home-field advantage. In the first meeting Purdue (5-5-1 ATS) manhandled the small time MAC division school with a 45-22 smack down at home. Despite the blowout earlier in the year, bettors have been jumping all over Central Michigan, (6-4-2 ATS) having moved the line from Purdue -10 all the way down to -7.5 at some books. SBGglobal.com has Purdue as -8 point betting favorites.

The Chippewas have a scary QB in 6'3" 200 Lb. Dan LeFevour who has a big-time arm and a fullbacks mentality for running the ball. LeFavour rushed for over 1,000 yards and he made good decision as a passer with a 23-13 TD to INT ratio. In the backfield behind LeFevour, are two capable backs in Justin Hoskins and the elusive Ontario Sneed. Despite CMU’s offensive potency, the Chippewas defense is ranked an abysmal 106th in the nation in yardage allowed against mostly weak MAC conference opponents. SBGglobal.com has the TOTAL at 71 points for the Purdue vs Central Michigan Motor City Bowl game.NCAA Bowl Picks: Purdue vs Central Michigan in Motor City Bowl

Purdue’s Curtis Painter has a fleet of receivers that he has used at his disposal all season to accumulate 3,300 yards passing and a 26-9 TD to INT ratio. Painter has a speedy 1-2 running punch to compliment his passing in Kory Sheets and Jaycen Taylor. Purdue had their best offensive showing of the season when they played CMU earlier this year piling on an impressive 583 offensive yards against a Chippewas defense that couldn’t compete with the Boilermakers offensive depth. Purdue’s defense has some speed, and despite being ranked a mediocre 60th in defense, they did so against formidable offenses in the Big-Ten.

Some of Purdue’s players have been griping about being in the small Motor City Bowl and the Chippewas are more than psyched just to be playing in a bowl game so the desire advantage has to tilt in Central Michigan’s favor. Despite the Chippewas enthusiasim they are an athletic disadvantage. Can Central Michigan overcome their physical shortcomings and outgut the Boilermakers to get their sweet revenge?
