Minnesota and Philadelphia will meet at Lincoln Financial Field tonight in a game that was suppose to take place Sunday evening. The weather delayed showdown between the Vikings and Eagles, which had been flexed to Sunday night, is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ET on NBC. NFL Week 16 Predictions have Philadelphia listed as a -14 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 41.5.
Minnesota's season, mercifully, has just
two games left in it. The Vikings, which many pegged as a Super Bowl contender back in August, fell to 5-9 last Monday night with an embarrassing 40-14 loss to the Bears at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Minnesota managed just 16 first downs and 273 total yards in the loss.
Brett Favre, who did not play in the Vikings week 14 loss to the Giants, completed 5-of-7 passes for 63 yards, one touchdown and one interception before exiting the game with a concussion. Favre is listed as doubtful for tonight's game, meaning rookie Joe Webb will get the start. Webb threw two interceptions against Chicago in route to a miserable 38.8 passer rating.
Minnesota has been horrific on the road this year, where it has compiled a 1-5 record and paltry 16.8 points per game average. The Vikings did garner their first road win the season in week 12, the last time they played away from home, with a 17-13 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Philadelphia took a major step toward securing the NFC East title last Sunday with a dramatic 38-31 come from behind win against the Giants in New York. The Eagles scored 35 second half points as Michael Vick threw three touchdowns and rushed for one score after the break.
Philadelphia, at 10-4, locked up the division title on Sunday, though, without ever stepping on the field. Green Bay's 45-17 thrashing of New York at Lambeau gave the Eagles their first NFC East crown since 2006.
Philadelphia is 4-2 at home this season, but it has won four in a row at Lincoln Financial Field, besting the Falcons, Colts, Giants, and Texans by an average of nine points per game.
NFL Week 16 Predictions Betting Trend: The Vikings are 0-4 straight up and against the spread over the last five years playing as an underdog coming off a loss to an NFC North opponent.
NFL Week 16 Predictions Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles Odds:
Minnesota Vikings +14 (-110), Over 41.5 (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles -14 (-110), Under 41.5 (-110)
