The shine is officially off T.J. Yates as the rookie signal caller makes his fifth consecutive start for the Texans. Houston won the North Carolina product’s first two outings, defeating Atlanta and Cincinnati, but they are 0-2 in his last two outings, falling to Carolina and Indianapolis.
While Yates did not perform all that poorly against the Colts, he did little to help his team move the ball, something that has been a problem since veteran starter Matt Schaub went down for the season.
The Texans lackluster offense calls into question just how far the team might go in the playoffs, but one thing remains certain, regardless of Sunday’s result, Houston will get at least one home game as the AFC’s three seed.

The Titans up and down season has been reflected in their road play as they have won three of their seven away outings without ever winning or losing back-to-back road affairs. That trend may bode well for Tennessee come Sunday; the Titans, winners in six of their nine games at Houston, lost their last away game 27-13 to the Colts.
