The NFL Finds No Tampering Charges Against Minnesota Vikings: Official reports have been released, in a statement by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, that the Minnesota Vikings were not guilty of tampering charges filed by the Green Bay Packers regarding QB Brett Favre. The news started circulating just some hours after Brett Favre's reinstatement papers were finally filed and processed. The Green Bay Packers had filed tampering charges against their NFC North rivals, accusing them of having illegally conversations with the then-retired QB, about possibly coming out of retirement and signing with the Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota Vikings will play their first Pre-season game against the Seattle Seahawks. At SBGglobal.com, you can now choose the team you feel will win this Preseason game. Goodell acknowledged that there were conversations between Favre and the Vikings, nevertheless, that none of these (conservations) suggested Favre was soliciting a job or that anyone was asking for the QB’s services. The Minnesota Vikings are -140 betting odds favorites to beat the Seattle Seahawks (+120) on August 7th, 2008. The complaint was filed based partly on cell phone conversations between Favre and Darrell Bevel (Minnesota’s offensive coordinator). Bevel is a former Green Bay Packers employee, who has remained close friends with Favre even after his departure to the Vikings.
