Steelers Ben Roethlisberger Out for NFL Week 12? If losing to the last place (3-7) Kansas City Chiefs weren’t bad enough for the defending champion (6-4) Pittsburgh Steelers, it just got worse. Not only did the Chiefs knock off their team-record 10-game losing streak against the champs, but they might have also knocked quarterback Ben Roethlisberger out of the NFL Week 12.
Roethlisberger had thrown for almost 400 yards and 3 touchdowns before taking a knee to the head on a sack by Derrick Johnson. Big Ben eventually got up and wobbled off the field with what is believed to have been a concussion. 
"He took a blow, needless to say, it was a concussion-oriented thing so I doubt he was going to come back into the football game," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. "I don't have a lot of information in terms of where he is or his level of availability. We will have more information as we proceed."
A few minutes later, Ryan Succop stepped in and kicked the 22-yard winning field goal, as KC stunned Pittsburgh, 27-24 in OT. "To do it against the defending Super Bowl champions is a great feeling," said Succop. "A lot of hard work has gone into it and our coaches and players and everybody has really bought in."
In the NFL Week 12, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be on the road, taking on AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens. The scenario that the Steelers must now deal with is Ben Roethlisberger’s status for this game is clearly uncertain as of now.
If Ben can’t go, the Steelers will not be able to count on veteran backup Charlie Batch, who’s out for the rest of the season with a wrist injury. This means that Pittsburgh’s hopes would rest on the shoulders of No.3 guy, Dennis Dixon. The second-year Oregon product has thrown a single pass in the NFL, which went for 3 yards total. If Roethlisberger is out for any extended amount of time, Dixon would be asked to lead the troops and win a game that has huge playoff implications, against a nefarious Ravens defense on Sunday.
