In the American League East, the Boston Red Sox will head to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays.  BetOnline.com has the Toronto Blue Jays -106 odds favorites against the Boston Red Sox -104 with the over/under set for 9 runs.

The Red Sox will send 15-year veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield to the mound, and he is coming off a 17-12 season with an ERA of 4.76. Wakefield saw a lot of the Blue Jays last season, going 3-2 in five starts with an ERA of 3.38. Two of Wakefield's three wins against the Blue Jays actually came at the Rogers Center.

The Blue Jays will go with Shaun Marcum, who was excellent in his second full season in the big leagues. Marcum posted a 12-6 record with an ERA of 4.13, and he became a solid No.2 pitcher in the rotation with A.J. Burnett on the injured list. Marcum was spectacular after the All-Star break, with an ERA of 3.62 while holding the opposition to an average of .221. Marcum was 1-1 in five games (two starts) against the Red Sox with an ERA of 4.20. These two split their 18 meetings from last season, and the Blue Jays closed the season with a sweep of the Red Sox at home.

Look for the Blue Jays to continue that trend with a victory in their home opener. Get in your Free MLB Pick in Now!
