Driver Charged with Murder in Nick Adenhart Car Accident: Reports are now circulating that prosecutors have officially filed three counts of murder against the 22-year-old motorist allegedly responsible for running the red light in the car accident that killed Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher, Nick Adenhart.

Just a few minutes ago, the District Attorney’s office in Orange County disclosed that Andrew Thomas Gallo has also been charged with driving under the influence when the fatal accident occurred.

According to authorities, Gallo was driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 percent when the collision that killed Adenhart occurred.

The Riverside man was also charged with fleeing the scene of the accident, according to reports, and could receive up to 55 years to life in prison if convicted of all charges.

Police officers say Gallo was driving a minivan that broadsided a car carrying Adenhart and three friends early Thursday morning. According to University of California, Irvine Medical Center spokesman John Murray, Adenhart died after undergoing surgery.

Police Lt. Craig Brower said “the minivan driver fled the crash scene and was captured a short time later. The driver was arrested and booked for investigation of felony hit-and-run.”
