Rangers vs Yankees MLB Odds April 15, 2011: The (7-4) New York Yankees [-145] will face off against the MLB Odds underdog (9-3) Texas Rangers [+125] for a three-game series live from the Bronx this weekend, starting on Friday at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM CT). According to MLB Odds makers, the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees are projected to combine and score an OVER/UNDER total of 10 runs scored.
The Sports Betting Odds favorite Yankees surely have a chip on their shoulders when it comes to the Rangers, after Texas sent them packing last year and won the AL pennant. New York is now looking to get a third straight win, after a hard-fought win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. The Yankees overcame a five-run deficit in the fifth inning, and came back to win 6-5 in the 10th.
Starting things off for New York on Friday night will be rookie Ivan Nova. This will be the first time Nova will face the Rangers, and is coming off a shaky game against the Red Sox. On Saturday, the right-hander gave up four runs and seven hits, as well as walked three during his 4 1/3 innings pitched.
Fortunately for Nova, he will not have to deal with Josh Hamilton, since the AL MVP suffered a broken arm. Hamilton is expected to be our for approximately two month. As for the Rangers, they will have Matt Harrison on the mound starting things off. The left-hander is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA, and will be his first time starting in Yankee Stadium. “Pitching in a ballpark like that for the first time, with all the history, should be pretty special,” Harrison shared. “But you still have to make pitches.”
His last start was on Saturday against the Orioles, when he pitched seven innings and allowed only one run and two hits, to help the Rangers win 13-1.
