Lee has struggled out of the box in 2009 losing his first two decisions. The Cleveland lefthander has become just the second Cy Young winner in the last 10 years to lose both of his first two starts following his award winning season. Already, Lee has given up 11 runs on 17 hits in 10 innings of work. He didn't give up his 11th run of '08 until his eighth start and 59th inning pitched. Lee showed some improvement against the Blue Jays on Saturday, but he still only lasted five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts. He needs to improve his fastball command to become more efficient. Lee is 3-3 with a 5.63 ERA in seven career starts against the Yankees, but he blanked them for seven innings in a win in New York last April.

Sabathia draws the call for the first game at the new Yankee Stadium, coming in hot on the afterglow of a sparkling performance against the Royals in his second Yankees start. Sabathia was in control of Kansas City from the first pitch, firing 7 2/3 innings of scoreless ball with six strikeouts and was left wondering why manager Joe Girardi was coming out with the hook after 108 pitches. The difference from his Opening Day start came with a tweak from the bullpen, where Sabathia plants his right foot sooner and stays on top of his fastball better. Sabathia will be facing his former Indians club for the first time in his career.

Betting trends at BetUS.com has Cleveland at 2-7 SU and 1-6 SU in its last seven road games. The total has gone UNDER in five of Cleveland's last five games when playing New York. Going back to previous seasons, Cleveland is 6-19 SU in their last 25 games when playing on the road against the Yankees.

Sports-Odds.com prediction: How can you go against the Yankees and C.C. Sabathia opening up their new stadium? This is an easy prediction after the way Cliff Lee has struggled in the early going this season and in the Spring. We like New York on the moneyline (-210).
