MLB Odds National League May 7 2012: The Philadelphia Phillies host the New York Mets headlining a seven-card National League schedule when they play Monday’s ESPN televised game at Citizens Bank Park. Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay (3-2,3.40 ERA) gets the start for the Phillies in this one and will be going against Mets starter Joe Niese (2-1, 4.08 ERA). Odds makers at most off shore sports shops list Halladay and the Phillies as -169 MLB Odds favorites with a combined game score total of 6 1/2-runs. Mets backers wagering for a SU win are getting +157.

St. Louis Cardinals starter Lance Lynn will try to extend his personal winning streak this Monday (9:40 p.m. ET) to six games and the Cardinals second win in a row when he faces the Arizona Diamondbacks and left-handed starter Joe Saunders at Chase Field in Phoenix. Lynn became the NL’s first five-game winner in his last start. He retired 15 straight at one point and continues to baffle hitters with his three fastballs and two offspeed pitches. Lynn has allowed more than one run in a game only once. With Lynn the starter, sports shops are offering the Cardinals as slight odds favorites at -114. D-Backs backers are getting +105 but Saunders must pitch.

The Miami Marlins will trot right-hander Carlos Zambrano to the mound at Minute Maid Park when they play the first of a set against the Astros in Houston. The Astros, who’ve won five of their last six games will start Wandy Rodriguez. The Astros left-hander is 3-2 with a 1.64 ERA and is 3-0 in  his last three starts. Zambrano (0-2, 2.53 ERA) has a string of four straight quality starts, and he has yet to log a win. The Marlins are listed as slight -106 MLB Odds favorites for the game with a combined betting total (over/under) of 7 1/2-runs.

The Cincinnati Reds send Bronson Arroyo to the mound tonight when they visit Milwaukee for the first of a three game series at Miller Park. Due to a pitching change by Milwaukee this game is currently off the betting board.
