The National League West leading Arizona Diamondbacks (25-15) will hope to complete the home-series sweep of their NLW division foes the Colorado Rockies (15-25), tonight starting at 9:40 pm EST (6:40 pm MST). What a terrific pitching duel this MLB Betting Prediction is indeed. For the visiting Colorado Rockies, toeing the mound will be RHP Aaron Cook. And for the home team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, on the hill, will be (the undefeated) RHP out of Kentucky, Brandon Webb. BodogLife.com has the Arizona Diamondbacks a - 160 favorite at home tonight, against the visiting Colorado Rockies +140. The Arizona Diamondbacks are off to a great start this season, and they are doing it with pitching. The last time Arizona had a dominating pitching staff, at the top of the rotation it was Curt Chilling and a young Randy Johnson. With this duo, they went on to win a World Series. Their new ace, is the 6’ 2” 230 lb. 30 year-old out of Kentucky, Brandon Webb. Webb is absolutely lights-out. So far this season, the sinker-baller has registered 8 winning decisions in 8 starts. The last NL pitcher to do this (in his first eight starts) was Pedro Martinez in 1997. The 2006 NL Cy Young winner Webb, is currently atop MLB in wins, coming in with a perfect 8-0 record; an impressive 2.41 ERA and a respectable 41 punch-outs. However, his counterpart, Aaron Cook, is surely no slouch. After loosing his first start at the St. Louis Cardinals, and getting a ND versus the Atlanta Braves, Cook has come on strong. The 6’ 3” 215 lb righty, comes into this contest having won his last 6 starts, including a win against the D-backs on April 13th. The big RH has registered these half-dozen consecutive wins in dominating fashion. During this 6-game-stretch he has a 1.90 ERA. For the year, Cook is currently 6-1, 2.26 ERA and 23 K. The Arizona D-Backs are 16-7 at the desert this season; while the Rockies are 8-15 on the road.
