Orioles vs Giants MLB 2010 Odds – June 16, 2010: Interleague action continues all around the majors, as we get a chance to see some of the best and worst teams from both leagues go at each other. In the Bay Area, the (36-28) San Francisco Giants [-280 ML] will look to even their series with the sports betting odds underdog (18-47) Baltimore Orioles [+240 ML] in the middle game. Game 2 of this series is set to get underway this afternoon at 3:45 PM ET (12:45 PM PT) and you can catch all the action live on MASN and/or CSN-BA.
The pitching matchup this afternoon promises to be a dandy, RHP Jeremy Guthrie (3-7, 3.83 ERA) goes head-to-head against the reigning, 2-time National League Cy Young winner, RHP Tim Lincecum (6-2, 3.12 ERA). As a direct result of this pitching matchup, MLB 2010 Odds makers at BODOG.com believe that the Orioles and Giants will combine and score an OVER/UNDER grand total of 6½ runs on the AT&T Park board at night’s end.
After a blistering start, Lincecum hit a wall, as he went winless for nearly an entire month. His last time out, Lincecum looked more like what we are used to seeing from him, pitching 8 strong innings against the Oakland A’s while punching out seven batters in the victory.
"I just felt like I was hitting my spots when I needed to," said the lanky righty. "If I got behind a guy 2-0, I wasn't scared to throw a fastball in the zone. I just relaxed, remembered I could do it and quit doubting myself."
For Baltimore’s starter, his talent hasn’t matched his record this season, as he has struggled out of the gates. In his first career start against the Frisco Giants, Guthrie remains optimistic despite going up against a guy like Lincecum.
"You look around and there's 24 other players working hard and five or six coaches working hard, and when you see that you can be optimistic about getting things turned around," said Guthrie.
