Alleged Serial Adulterer Alex Rodriguez's Wife Files for Divorce, Madonna to blame? The New York Yankees’ superstar third baseman, Alex Rodriguez, who seemingly has been running around more than just bases these days, will soon be a bachelor once again. It appears that Alex Rodriguez’s string of public infidelity scandals have finally boiled over at the Rodriguez residence, and his wife Cynthia wants out.
According to the Associated Press, A-Rod’s wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, has officially filed for divorce in Miami, FL from the highest paid athlete in the history of sports, calling him an adulterer who “emotionally abandoned his wife and children.” 
According to Cynthia’s petition for dissolution of marriage, filed in the family division of the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, “The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband’s extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct.”
Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez, whom Sunday evening tied the legendary Yankee, Mickey Mantle, for 13th place in the all-time home runs list, and who also earned his 12th All Star selection, has not commented on his ongoing personal problems.
The straw that appears to have broken the camels back, occurred last week when A-Rod was spotted leaving pop-singing-star Madonna’s New York apartment in the late hours of the night. Madonna has continuously denied any romantic involvement with the Yankees slugger, as she is also going through a divorce.
When these events occurred last week, it was rumored that Alex’s wife, Cynthia, had immediately left Stray-Rod and had an alleged “getaway” with pop singer Lenny Kravitz.
In her petition Cynthia adds: “The petitioner has exhausted every effort to salvage the marriage of the parties… However, Alex has emotionally abandoned his wife and children and has left her with no choice but to divorce him.”
It has been reported that Cynthia has now asked for primary custody of their two children (Natasha Alexander, 3, and 2-month-old, Ella Alexander), as well as child support and alimony.
