MLB Prediction New York Yankees at Texas Rangers: Game 3 of this 4-game set between the New York Yankees (61-52) and the Texas Rangers (60-54) has a scheduled first pitch, 7:05 PM CT (8:05 PM ET), from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. Despite loosing the first two games, at SBGglobal.com, the New York Yankees are once again (-130) betting odds favorites to beat the red-hot (+110) Texas Rangers. The opening two games of this series have been anything but pitching duels, as both teams have combined for a total of 28 runs (in just 18 innings). The hot/dry Texas weather has been especially rewarding to Rangers fans, as they have seen two slugfests, with their team coming out on top each time. The OVER/UNDER for this MLB Prediction: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers has been set at a combined 12½ runs total. Tonight’s pitching match up is anything but a stellar one. As a veteran, sort of “daredevil” type of pitcher (Sidney Ponson), takes on an inexperienced youngster (Tommy Hunter) who got roughed up in his first MLB outing. For Joe Girardi and the Yankees, the RHP from Aruba, Sidney Ponson comes in with a 6-2 record, a 4.23 ERA, and a bad strikeout-to-basses-on-balls ratio of 38-32. Since being acquired by the Yankees, Ponson has shown inconsistencies throwing strikes, but somehow has been able to get out of most major jams seemingly unharmed. Meanwhile the Texas Rangers will be counting on rookie RHP from Alabama, Tommy Hunter. Hunter will be making just the second start of his MLB career. In his first outing, against the Toronto Blue Jays, Hunter was roughed up (5.0 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K), but was able to earn an ND, as his teammates picked him up. As a result, the youngster comes in with a bloated ERA of 10.80. Get you MLB Prediction: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers only at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com where I'm "AlwaysHot"
