Marlins fading National League East, the Florida Marlins have hung around in the race for first place in the National League East much longer than most people thought they would, but now they are fading back. Currently, they are five games behind the New York Mets in the division and are nine games behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the chase for the Wild Card. Although Olsen has been one of the Marlins better starting pitchers this season, the team has lost his last six starts. He hasn't necessarily pitched poorly in those outings, but the team has given him very little run support. They have averaged three runs per game in his last six outings. Olsen has started twice against the Braves this season earning a win and a no-decision in his two outings. He'll face Jurrjens, who has been the Braves best and most consistent pitcher this season. But Jurrjens is having his worst month of the season in August and is fresh off a rough start in New York. Jurrjens allowed four earned runs in five innings of work last Wednesday en route to a 6-3 loss to the Mets. He's faced the Marlins twice this season with a mixed bag of results. In his first start, he allowed just two earned runs in six innings pitched but was knocked around for five earned on 11 hits in six innings of work in his other start against the Marlins.
