Chicago White Sox Jim Thome 536 HR Ties Mickey Mantle: On Sunday afternoon, the Chicago White Sox’s Jim Thome took a step up in the history books by hitting career home run number 536. Against the Boston Red Sox’s knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, Thome got a pitch he could handle, and blasted a 2-run shot to put the Chi-town Sox ahead 2-0 on the scoreboard.

In-turn, the veteran lefty tied the legendary New York Yankee Mickey Mantle for 14th place in baseball’s all-time home run list. Next up for Thome, is yet another New York Yankees slugger, third baseman Alex Rodriguez.
