McCourt Divorce: Owner Says Wife Had Affair with Bodyguard

McCourt Divorce Owner Says Wife Had Affair with Bodyguard: It’s becoming like an episode of the Jerry Springer show in the front offices of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. On Wednesday, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt filed papers against his wife's reinstatement demands as the team's chief executive.

According to McCourt, his wife allegedly had an affair with her bodyguard, Jeff Fuller and used company funds for a romantic trip with her lover. These documents were filed one day after Jamie McCourt submitted divorce papers where she seeks to regain her $2 million a year job.

"Reports of these statements have been detrimental to the Dodgers, my other business ventures, and me personally," Frank McCourt wrote. Her claim has "thrown an unjustified cloud over the ownership of the Dodgers."

The claim is that on early July, Jamie McCourt took a business trip with Fuller to Israel but then headed to France for almost 3 weeks and charged it to the Dodgers. She is also accused of not giving her husband any information about her assignments or providing the team with her schedule of public appearances.

"Frank has no right to purport to terminate me. We are co-owners of the Dodgers," Jamie McCourt stated on a statement Tuesday. "Not only has Frank publicly held us out as co-owners of the franchise, he has also admitted this fact in front of our estate planning counsel."
