The Wolverines are coming off an emotional 60-59 home win over rival Michigan State Tuesday night while Arkansas suffered a 23 point loss (63-83) at Kentucky. ODDS UPDATE: Prior to game time, TopBet.com listed Arkansas as 2-chalk favorites.
Both Razorbacks and Wolverines share one commonality for sure; neither has been very good on the road. The Hogs were outmanned and outgunned at Kentucky on Tuesday, falling behind 10-2 in the early going and never challenged the superior Wildcats. Fortunately for the Razorbacks, they have played well in Fayetteville with impressive wins over then 15th ranked Mississippi State (Jan. 7) and LSU last Saturday (Jan. 14). The Razorbacks are 13-0 at home in Bud Walton Arena and 13-1 at home overall, losing to Houston in Little Rock. Arkansas (2-2 SEC) is one of five schools tied for 4th place in the SEC Standings while Michigan leads the BIG TEN with a 5-2 league mark.
Michigan is 0-2 in true road games on another schools campus this season but has a 3-3 record in games away from Ann Arbor. The Wolverines are coming off their most impressive win of the year, defeating Michigan State in Ann Arbor. As a result of the win, was able to take over first place in the BIG TEN.
There is no doubt the Razorbacks have this game circled on the calendar and so has their fans. The game is expected to be sold out in an venue that can be intimidating to its visitors. The line will be close but expect Arkansas to pull out a narrow victory. Against ranked opposition at home, the Hogs are 1-0. My Pick – Hogs SU.
