Now that the Los Angeles Lakers have won two straight following their two game losing streak, they can look forward to probably extending their current winning streak to three when the Washington Wizards come calling for a TNT televised game at 10:30 pm ET Thursday night.
Without guard Gilbert Arenas, The Washington Wizards are one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. Going into a Wednesday night's game at 10-32 Sacramento, Washington had lost seven of its last eight games, after falling at Golden State Monday 119-98. And only two teams have been worse than the Wizards at making money for their financial backers this season, as Washington is just 16-24 against the spread.
Sports odds professionals at SBGglobal.com list the Lakers as 14-chalk ATS and -2100 moneyline favorites with a 208 total for this game. Wizards backers are getting +1200 moneyline odds.
Going into a Wednesday city rivalry game vs. the 9-31 Clippers, the Lakers sat atop the Western Conference standings, 4.5 games clear of the second-place San Antonio Spurs. But LA needed, and got, a 105-88 win over Cleveland Monday night to snap a mini two-game losing streak.
Kobe Bryant dislocated a finger on his shooting hand early Monday night, but he finished out the game, was expected to play Wednesday night vs. the Clippers.
Prospective bettors may want to take note of the line at SBGglobal.com on Thursday's game, because while the Lakers are just 7-13 ATS this season when favored by 10 points or more, the Wizards are 5-2 vs. the numbers when dogged by 10 points or more.
Sports-Odds.com predicts an easy one for the Lakers tonight. LA will cover ATS even while giving -14.
