Texas A&M at Kansas 2012 College Basketball Predictions: The Texas A&M men’s basketball team ventures into dangerous territory Monday night as they travel to Lawrence, Kan., to play the No. 7 Kansas on their home floor of notorious Phog Allen Fieldhouse. The game is part of the ESPN Big Monday and scheduled to tip at 9 pm ET.
Online sportsbook SBGglobal.com lists KU as 18 1/2-chalk favorites over the Aggies with a 126 combined score total (over/under). Oddsmakers have opted to stay away from posting College Basketball Odds for moneyline betting.
Kansas is 16-3 and sits atop the Big 12 standings at 6-0 after winning at Texas 69-66 on Saturday. The Jayhawks are 10-0 at home, 4-0 in road games and 2-3 on neutral courts this season. Kansas averages 76.4 points per game and allows 60.4 for a +16.0 scoring margin, which ranks second in the Big 12. KU leads the Big 12 in rebound margin at +7.6 and field goal percentage defense at 37.0. Additionally, KU averages 16.4 assists per contest.
Texas A&M is 11-7 overall and 2-4 in Big 12 play after its 81-75 overtime win against Oklahoma at home last Saturday. Texas A&M is 10-2 at home, 0-3 on the road and 1-2 at neutral sites in 2011-12. The Aggies have struggled covering the point-spread in road games losing on three of five. The Jayhawks are also 3-of-5 against the spread while the combined game score has gone OVER the number in 3-of-5 games at home.
KU should win easily at home but I will risk making the Aggies my pick getting 18 1/2.
