Nuggets vs Warriors NBA Odds – February 9th, 2011

by Matt Foust on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

The Nuggets, still waist deep in Carmelo Anthony trade rumors, are in Oaklnd tonight to take on the Golden State Warriors. The two Western Conference adversaries are scheduled to begin play at 10:30pm ET at the ORACLE Arena; tonight's game will be broadcast live on NBA TV. The latest NBA Odds have Denver listed as a +2 against the spread road dog and the game total set at 220.5.

Denver, despite the on again/off again Nuggets vs Warriors NBA Odds - February 9th, 2011Carmelo Anthony trade talk, has managed to keep its head above water, but the team has lost four of its last six games. The Nuggets latest setback came on Monday night when the Rockets came into the Pepsi Center and fought their way to a 109-103 win.

Denver, which fell to 30-22 with the loss, got 50 points and 11 rebounds out of Anthony (16-of-24 FG), but only two other Nuggets scored in double figures (Al Harrington 10, Ty Lawson 19). Kevin Martin (37) and Luis Scola (25) combined for 62 of Houston's 108 points.

The Nuggets, which remain 3.5 games behind first place Oklahoma City in the Northwest Division, are 9-15 on the road this season. Denver has won seven in a row over the Warriors, though, including the last three meetings between the two teams at ORACLE Arena.

Golden State saw its three game win streak come to a halt on Monday with a 92-104 home loss to the Suns. Phoenix drilled 13-of-30 from beyond the arc and recorded 32 assists in the divisional battle.

The Warriors backcourt tandem of Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry combined for 36 points and 13 assists in the loss, but the duo hit a miserable 1-for-9 from three point range.

Golden State, which ranks 12th in the Western Conference overall standings with a 22-28 record, trails the first place Lakers by 13 games in the Pacific Division. The Warriors might be able to put a dent in that lead this evening if they can get back on track at home, where they are 16-11 on the season. Prior to Monday's loss, Golden State had beat Utah, Milwaukee, and Chicago at the ORACLE.

Denver's Chauncey Billups is listed as a game time decision tonight after hurting knee in Monday's loss to the Rockets.
