College Basketball Pick: Pittsburgh at Marquette

by Steve Hastings on Friday, February 15th, 2008

Pittsburgh could be getting some help when they face Marquette on Friday.  Point guard Levance Fields may be back from injury for the Panthers against Marquette.  He has not played since late December.  He was averaging 11.9 points, 5.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds when he got hurt. "I'm looking forward to playing on Friday, as long as the foot feels good," Fields said, "So everything is going as planned. It was a little sore (after practice Monday). Of course, after not doing anything like that the past five or six weeks, you expect that. But it wasn't painful." SBG Global reports that early NCAA Basketball betting has the public taking Marquette at Home.

College Basketball Pick: Pittsburgh at MarquetteRonald Roman has done a nice job filling in while Fields has been hurt. "I never thought there was going to be much of an adjustment," said Pitt coach Jamie Dixon, "As a player, Ronald gives you everything he has every night. You can't ask more of a player than that."  He had 15 points on five 3-pointers in Pittsburgh’s 82-63 win over Providence on Tuesday. "I always have confidence in my shot," Roman said, "What I noticed tonight was that other guys had confidence in me too. Guys were getting into the paint tonight, and when they got stopped, they didn't hesitate to kick it out to me. It's easy for me to find a rhythm that way, and I was able to score some points."

SBG Global Current Line: Marquette -5, Total 137
