Duke at Florida State 2012 College Basketball Predictions

by Reno Gold on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Duke at Florida State 2012Duke at Florida State 2012 College Basketball Predictions: The Duke Blue Devils, ranked 5th in this week’s AP men’s college basketball poll, hope to fare better Thursday against No. 15 Florida State than the last time the schools met, Jan 21 when Florida State shocked the Blue Devils faithful by stealing a 76-73 win at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham. Duke and Florida State must win to keep pace with Atlantic Coast Conference leader North Carolina who has a half game lead over both schools. Duke is 23-4 overall on the season but locked with the Seminoles at 10-2 in conference play. The winner of Thursday’s game will get a small bit of seperation with three games left to play in the regular season. The game will be televised as part of the ESPN Big Thursday college basketball package starting at 7 pm ET.

Oddsmakers at online sportsbook Bodava.lv list the Blue Devils as slight 1 1/2-chalk favorites over the Seminoles with a combined score total of 140 1/2. College Basketball Odds for a SU win for either team are currently off the offshore college basketball betting board. Duke has lost two straight in the series after winning the previous five meetings. The Blue Devils have won 10 of the last 14 games between the two schools. At Donald L. Tucker Center on the FSU campus, Duke has won four of the last six road meetings in the series.

In what is expected to be one of the biggestif not the bigge crowds in FSU men’s basketball history, the Seminoles and Blue Devils will compete for first place in the ACC standings and a guaranteed first-round bye in next month’s ACC Tournament.

Game Prediction: FSU players do a great job of getting up for Duke and have had great success of late. It’s hard to turn down the
Seminoles at home getting points. My Pick – Florida State +1 1/2.
